DO-IT-YOURSELF ENERGY AUDIT

It is very important to read this kind of information because we need to be wise enough to save more energy. We should create alternative solutions to save more money. This is the best information that you to REMEMBER.

Have you ever wondered what parts of your house use the most energy? to know it, you have to hire a professional energy auditor. The cost-effective alternative is to conduct it yourself. Below are some doit-yourself (DIY) energy assessment tips:

1. Check the insulation in your attic, exterior and basement walls, ceiling, floors, and crawl spaces. Improving your home's insulation is the fastest way to cut on your energy waste. For best results when you insulate your home, consider factors such as climate, home design, and budget. If you intend to install the insulation yourself, be sure to follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and wear the proper protective gear.

2. check for air leaks around your walls, ceilings, windows, doors, light and plumbing fixtures, switches and electrical outlets. Before you insulate your house,  be sure to seal air leaks first because insulating materials will not block leaks.

3. Take time to study your family member's lighting needs and make use of controls-like sensors dimmers or timers - to reduce lightning use if necessary.

4. Check if your refrigerator is overworked. Over time, it will experience wear and tear on door's rubber gasket, build up dirt and dust on coils, thus eroding its efficiency and making it more expensive to operate.

5. Check the insulation of your switches and outlets. To know if there's a leak remove the plate and cover the opening with a ply of tissue affixed to wall at the top with painter's tape, If the tissue billows, it is likely that there is a leakage. If so, immediately insulate the opening with a precut foam gasket.

6. Properly maintain your appliances as well as heating and cooling systems. Be sure to read the corresponding owner's manual for recommended maintenance.

2. Durian Pie
(Durian Pie)
Durian is an oval spiny tropical fruit containing a creamy pulp. Despite its fetid Smell, it is highly esteemed for its flavors. I dont like to eat a pure durian because of its smell that very displeasing to my nose. Some Tagumenyos may say that "it smells like hell but taste like heaven" but now Tagum City is presenting a pie which is made from durian. There are different dishes/desserts which is made by durian but the durian pie is my favorite because of its creaminess and delicious taste.

Health benefits of Durian fruit

  • Durian, like other tropical fruits such as Bananaavocado, and jackfruit, is rich in energy, minerals and vitamins. 100 g fresh fruit provides 147 calories.
  • The fruit is made of soft, easily digestible flesh made of simple sugars like fructose and sucrose that when eaten replenish energy and revitalize the body instantly. Though it contains a relatively high amount of fats among fruits, it is free from saturated fats and cholesterol.
  • Durian is rich in dietary fiber, which makes it a good bulk laxative. The fiber content helps to protect the colon mucous membrane by decreasing exposure time and as well as binding to cancer-causing chemicals in the colon.
  • The durian fruit is a good source of antioxidant vitamin-C (about 33% of RDA). Consumption of foods rich in vitamin C helps the body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful free radicals.
  • The fruit is an excellent source of health benefiting B-complex groups of vitamins; a rare feature among fruits, such as niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), pyridoxine (vitamin B-6) and thiamin (vitamin B-1). These vitamins are essential for the body as it requires them from external sources to replenish.
  • Further, it also contains a good amount of minerals like manganese, copper, iron and magnesium. Manganese is used by the body as a co-factor for the antioxidant enzyme, superoxide dismutase. Copper is required in the production of red blood cells. Iron is required for red blood cell formation.
  • Fresh durian fruit is a very rich source of potassium. Potassium is an important electrolyte of cell and body fluids that helps controlling heart rate and blood pressure.
  • Additionally, it also contains high levels of essential amino acid, tryptophan (also known as "nature's sleeping pill") which in the body metabolizes into serotonin and melatonin; these neuro-chemicals have important functions like sleep induction and in the treatment of epilepsy.

Choleric Personality

There are 4 Temperaments that identifies your true attitude. They are the SANGUINE PERSONALITY -  which is sociable and playful person, the CHOLERIC PERSONALITY - which is an extrovert and selfish person, they are the best leaders. Next is the MELANCHOLIC PERSONALITY - which is an introvert and shy type of person, they prefer to do things on their own. Lastly, the PHLEGMATIC PERSONALITY - which is a private, calm and reasonable person, they love on quite places and they are the most patient one.

At http://personality-testing.info/tests/4T.php , I tried to test my myself  to know which personality did I belong. The result is CHOLERIC.
(Click the picture to know more)

I guess I'm a leader with a selfish personality. But if I relate it to my self it is actually true, most of the time in groupings my group mates always appointed me as their leader because of the personality that I had 'leadership skill'. I'm selfish just for the sake of the group not for myself. I'm a dictator leader so that my group mates will learn what we have discuss.

Some people perceive that being a choleric person is bad because they are stubborn and domineering type of person. But for me, I'm a choleric person in a good way.
